Hi All,

I am researching my late Uncles Submarine career L/Tel JX 162390 Norman Gray Leadingham he served in several boats Upstart, Teredo, Alderney and Alliance in fact he was a member of the crew when Alliance made the record breaking dive while testing the new snort tube in 1947 i was wondering if anyone out there has photo's of the crews of any of the mentioned boats especially Alliance.
Norman served 1944-1947 in boats.

thanks very much for your time

Regards
Dave Leadingham

Hello all,

I was an ex Onyx crew member(left in late 75).I discovered the Submarine heritage website a while back and filled in the ex crew form and emailed it. No Response. The thing is I dearly wish to visit Onyx in Barrow before I get any older. Can anyone help in any way or give me an email or phone no, if possible.

Thanks

Paddy Graham..

My late father (John H Brown) was a crew member of HMS Tantalus 1942-45 and I have been in touch with the last crew member who is still alive John Woodham (Tel)and he told me that the Tantalus was used in a propaganda film in the Irish Sea. She was supposed to be a German Uboat in trouble and smoke bombs were set off and she was made to list to one side, John said "3 of us were told to jump into the sea as a launch filmed us, we were in the cold sea for over 1/2 hour" Does anyone know of this film? and if so do you know where I can get a copy of it

I attended the Memorial off HMS/M Affray in Aldernay 16th April 2012 along with Jacko Jackson ex Coxn Frank Alderson ex Chief Stoker and Jim Hugman ex PO Chef, what a Wanderful Memorial Service given for Family and Friends of the Affray, my only disappointment was the lack of Submariners, the SBS out numbered us, Congrats to Martin Allen & Family who organised the whole event. (Shame on the RN)

Thank you for the touching Obituary of our father William Morrison.

A memorial service and funeral will be held Friday 24th February,1pm @ St Andrew's Kirk, Colquhoun Sq., Helensburgh, then at Cardross Crematorium.

Our father recently participated in the series "Coast", for an episode about WW2 and the coast of parts of Scotland where X-Craft were tested.

We will try to keep this site posted on when this will be broadcasted.
